DIY Apple Candle Holders

Create your own Apple Candle Holders that will last as fall decor for many seasons to come!
For a little while now I have seen pictures floating around the internet of some adorable Apple Candle Holders. When I took a closer look I realized they were all using real apples. Now don’t get me wrong real is normally better than fake, but what’s the point of making something out of food that you can’t eat and that won’t last more than a few days at most?
So since real apples obviously weren’t going to last as decor on my mantle all season I thought I would make a run to the Dollar Tree and see what their artificial apples looked like. My plan was to buy a few and then repaint them if need be, but I ended up liking the ones I bought so they stayed their original shade of apple red.
Here is what the apple looked like before I put it to pieces. Almost good enough to eat! Just kidding - I wouldn't suggest eating this!
Luckily it's really easy to cut into!
I absolutely love how they turned out and later today I will Instagram a picture of where they are displayed right now as I make the transition from summer to fall decor in our home.

It looks like you took the metal bases off the candles. This can be very dangerous as that styrofoam apple can easily burst into flame and set things on fire!! Cute idea for the short term though.
