DIY Cherry Blossom Branches

Create this simple spring decor or Easter tree by using sticks, artificial flower petals, and hot glue! It's super easy and will last for years.
To start, find five or six long, thin branches outside in your yard. I used birch, because I love their lean look, but use what you have! If you don't have trees, ask a friend; I'm sure they'll be happy to let you have some.
Grab some artificial flowers. These can be anything you have laying around or something you picked up at The Dollar Tree. The smaller the petal, the better. Pink would be the traditional color, but you can use your imagination and go with whatever color you prefer.
While you heat up your glue gun, take the flower heads off of their stems and trim of the individual petals. I used 6-8 flower heads. You can use more or less depending on how full you'd like your blossom branches.
Place a small dab of glue at the bottom center of the petal, and immediately attach the petal to the branch. If your branch has small nodes or "stems" then use those as a guide of where to put your petals. If not, simply space out your petals along the branch. Attach as many petals as you would like.
When you're finished, place branches in a glass jar or vase, or use floral foam and moss to create a more finished piece. For an Easter tree, add small eggs and other fun (light) items. For full instructions, check out my post. Happy Spring!

Many, many years ago at my high school senior prom our theme was a Japanese Garden Setting. We used the same technique shown above but when it came to the cherry blossoms themselves we used colored, popped popcorn as the blossom. It was equally as successful as the petals above. Just another idea here about the blossoms and this project lasts and lasts from year to year! Thank you for showing your own project.
