Do you have items that for no particular reason, you are just drawn to? I seem to have many and mirrors are one of them. I have always loved framed mirrors. Who knows why! It is hard for me to turn down a “cheap” mirror, especially since they are so easily incorporated as decorative accents. I had accumulated several small mirrors and a magnificent large, round, metal mirror. I just was not sure what I was going to do with them. Well, our
dining room wall needed a facelift. After much thought, I decided to paint a picture on the wall and use a few of the mirrors as additional decor. I love the bright and inviting colors of purple and green, so I decided to paint grapes on my wall. I painted a large vase with bronze bands going around the middle and bottom of the vase. I added greenery with clusters of grapes draped over the sides. Then I painted grape vines around the vase and coming down from the ceiling. I also added a few grapes and vines on the opposite end of the same wall, to tie everything together. Since this wall is long, I placed the large round, metal mirror in the center of the wall. Then I used the small mirrors and a couple of other finds to fill in around the large mirror.
The small mirrors and other pieces I chose to use around the large, round, metal mirror and in between the painted grape vines. I think the “give thanks” sign fits well in the dining room.
The deep green and rich purple in the grapes and vines provided a pop of color to the wall and the room.
Luckily, there was a stud located in the exact spot I wanted to place the large, rather heavy, mirror.
I placed the mirrors and other pieces on the wall in several ways before I decided on this arrangement. The small mirrors were lite-weighted, so I was able to use sewing pins to hold them on the wall.
I love my mirror wall Art.
