Allison, I love your floor! Down South we have a plywood we call luan. I believe it is hardwood. I had planned on using some for the ceiling in the porch room, but I couldn't cut a straight line if my life depended on it. Now I have a table saw. :) About 30 years ago I pulled up the carpet in my living room and hall like you did in your bedroom. Then I glued down wood parkette tiles to the concrete. They had a V design around the edges. I slathered poly on the floor and it leveled out the gaps. Then my boss opened the side door and my cat ran to the bedroom right over the wet poly with me chasing him in my sock feet. I got both males out of my home and tried to go over the paw/foot prints. It all leveled out! That floor was so easy to clean! Better than my socks. Yeah, I went to work without any socks. I had both my cat and my German shepherd all over it without any scratches. I used the kind of poly recommended for boats because it is super hard.

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
The floors look beautiful! Pine can have issues with staining blotchy, did you have any issues?
Hello, how thick was plywood?
Looks great. But the last time I priced plywood it was so expensive. When did you do this? At todays prices (2/15/23) I doubt you could do for $1.27/sf. However, might be able to do for less than many other wood products. If nothing else you have underlayment in place should you choose to cover in future. Good option. Thanks for sharing
