My Furniture Bucket List

I have a bucket list just like most people, but I also have a furniture bucket list; full of pieces I would love to find to make over. A buffet was on my list, but now I can cross that one off.
I found this buffet at a yard sale for a great price so I snatched it up right away.
It came with a lot of issues; missing knobs and knobs that didn't fit the holes, water stains, scratches and many water makes. Nothing though, that couldn't be fixed.
I was able to sand down the top of the buffet and some of the details on the piece.
I painted the rest of the buffet a soft gray color and stained the sanded parts a dark color. I distressed the painted areas as well.
The top turned out amazing!
I love this piece! My first buffet makeover was so much fun that I hope to find a few more to make over in different ways! You can see the full story of this buffet makeover on my blog post: http://www.mycreativedays.com/my-furniture-bucket-list/

Still a shame it couldn't be restored. Every time a piece is painted an antiques is changed and the story is lessened. Maybe some day Walmart will make cheap looking antiques that can have the talents and ideas shown.
