A while ago I stained a little DIY table for my deck. My fail? I probably didn't seal it well enough and the stain got wet and faded. :(
So, I knew I had to save it, but it's too cold out side in the north east right now to stain. Never fear! I got my acrylic paints and went to work.

Originally, I was pretty pleased with the stain design on this table top, but I evidently missed something when I sealed it. Water got in and faded the design.
Sanded and some basic black paint to help seal the wood.
Totally blacked out the top in hopes that the paint would help seal the wood and stop the stain art from coming through to my new picture.
I admit I had to do the feathers twice to get the fluffy wispy peacock look. I painted in the lines and some dots of blue, purple, and yellow, then took a wet paper towel and smeared it in an outward direction. Then went back and put the feather detail in.
Finished peacock! This time i used an outdoor spray sealer to make sure the water stays out and triple coated it.
