Roadside find of a non rusted, sturdy step stool and sitting area with a ripped top.
I need a step stool at work.

Cute but dirty and torn stool. I really want to paint it but I just can't right now.I'm not even going to get the few paint spots I see on the bottom step. It's character.
Isn't it amazing what soap and water can do?!
Just look at the difference in the two steps. Eww!It's really great that the seat lifts up to get to the second step.
One old pant leg will be the new cushion cover with the help of scissors and lots of hot glue. Cut to size with a little extra to glue under the lipof the seat so it looks neat.
I took the top off so I could get it done faster and even. I work with a bunch of men, so this will fit right in. Scraps can be a life saver for patches or projects.
I have to admit; this is pretty cute, functional and it's not staying in my house! Its amazing that this little stool found me just when I was thinking of buying one. I had to ask for help at work today so this made me get this done tonight. I know they will laugh at me when I get to work but I won't have to ask the tall ones or long armed coworkers to reach things for me. 😀 This is community is giving me a guilt free way to trash pick. But with a purpose to post, I'm actually getting projects done.
Suggested materials:
  • Old metal step stool   (Road side find)
  • Jean leg.   (Had it)

I was looking this summer for something like this. They were selling them for $60-$125 with rust, broken rings and total trash. Calling it shabby chique. No it was garbage.
Like I tell my husband, look at the money I just saved!
