You don't need an art degree or 20 years of experience to create wonderful one-of-a-kind works of art. All you need is Unicorn Spit!
Here's a step-by-step tutorial on how to create an Aura Blast design using this amazing new non-toxic rainbow gel stain/glaze. You can do this too!
Here's a step-by-step tutorial on how to create an Aura Blast design using this amazing new non-toxic rainbow gel stain/glaze. You can do this too!
Here's the before shot of a boring little bookcase I found for free on Craig's List. The shelves were missing, but I liked it.
I started by painting the fake wood with my new go-to color called The Gulf from Dixie Belle Paint. It sticks nicely to pressed wood with no prep work and has zero VOC's so I can paint in my kitchen. Here's one coat of The Gulf.
Once the paint dried, I was ready to start the Aura Blast design. The Unicorn Spit YouTube Channel has AWESOME video tutorials showing you exactly how to create a variety of looks with this product. This is how I create Michelle's signature Aura Blast design.
STEP 1: Choose your color pallet. This is the hardest part! I think you need at least 3 or 4 colors to layer on top of each other for the best results. You can always come back and layer even more colors later.
SPIT TIP: Your circles won't be perfect. That's OK! This isn't an engineering project. This is ART! Keep going. It will look good in the end. (Also, I use the same syringe for all colors. Just squirt what you don't use back into the jar and move onto the next color.)
STEP 5: Repeat Step 4 starting at the center and fanning out like spokes on a bicycle wheel. Wipe your hand off and spray it with more water as needed.
I'm not done yet! To see more Spit Tips on how to blend the colors together and finish the project, please visit the All Things New Again Blog. The link to the full tutorial is posted below.
Unicorn Spit is really fun to play around with and it makes everything look like a wonderful, one-of-a-kind work of art!
