Hello Autumn - Ambiance and Atmosphere in the Home

Working from home, we can get really distracted by a load of laundry, the kids coming home for lunch, stairs that need refinishing or repairing that dang chip in the nail polish.
In order to be productive and work 'smart', I do things like move the studio table (aka dining room table) to face the water. (I don't bang my head on the chandelier as much as I used to). The attire is that of Casual Fridays at the office and I'll fiddle around with lighting to achieve the perfect effect.
Background noise (or lack thereof) is super important. On a beautiful Summer day the sound track is usually the windows and doors thrown open to enjoy the sounds of birds, water, trees and passers-by.

But Autumn showed up today.
Sitting down to work, I found myself without the right sound. Having grown tired of the redundant personal playlists + commercial riddled radio stations, I peeked around online to find the 'stream for the season' and found this! ambient-mixer.com
It's a is a free site offering we the people, Ambiance, Atmospheres and Music. 'Bachelor Pad' (above) is one of my faves. You feel you are in a room with a aquarium, fireplace, jazz on the turntable and someone making cocktails in the background. On the rocks. Uber Cool.

They have created some amazing home atmospheres for us. A crackling fire, rain, the distant sound of a passing train mixed up with the rustling pages of a book or the sounds of someone cooking you a meal.

You can also listen to all sorts of unreal atmospheres and strange ambient sounds from horror and scary sounds to fun ambient mixes and sci-fi atmospheres. Select scary sounds of wild animals in the dark, get creepy with horror sounds of haunted houses. Perfect for Halloween this year!

Check it out :)
I did it again. Back to work -
