Old Vintage End Tables Get a Makeover

These old brown vintage end tables were brought to me by a couple who had no use for them anymore. They weren't in the best shape, but they weren't in the worst shape either. Part of these tables are wood and part plastic. They will be painted so consider yourself warned icon

I love the shape of the tables as well as the ornate detail on the doors. The doors open up for ample storage space inside which is always a plus.

The hardware is removed and the tables were cleared of their cobwebs and dust. Next, they are lightly sanded and cleaned.

To get in the ornate detailed scroll work I used an old toothbrush.

The tables are painted in a simple off white paint and distressed to make the details pop. You can get quality chalk type paint online here.

Simple clean and fresh they are updated and ready for their new home. If you like this makeover then make sure to hop on over to the blog and check out my 5 Best Tips for Painting Furniture White.

I repainted a bedroom set years ago and it seems that the paint has made the drawers thicker where they stick. How do you stop that from happening? Thank you.

Do you have advice for changing hardware from brassy to silver using rub 'n buff? What should it be cleaned with? Anything will help me. Thx.

I first saw these and humph’d thinking it was just the cheap stuff I’d seen in low end store windows or junk mail furniture store offerings.

    I know: elitist snob!

But seeing what was done to them makes them chic high-end decorator material!

    Gorgeous now!

My abject apologies and sincere congratulations!
