Lotion bars are a healthy, natural way to moisturize your skin. But they can be expensive to buy. Learn how to make a lotion bar at home.

This guide will walk you through the steps of making a lotion bar from scratch. I’ll show you how easy it is and give you tips for creating your own unique scents and recipes!

With our simple lotion bar recipe, detailed instructions, and step-by-step photos, I’ll show you exactly how to make an orange-vanilla body bar in just a few minutes – without any special equipment or ingredients! You can use this technique with any essential oil scent you like.

  • 3 ounces Unrefined African Shea Butter
  • 3 ounces coconut oil
  • 15 drops of orange essential oil (or other essential oils)
  • 3 ounces Beeswax Pellets
  • 7 drops of vanilla fragrance oil
  • ⅛ tsp orange mica powder

Measure the shea butter, coconut oil, and beeswax by weight, using the kitchen scale. Layer the ingredients into the measuring cup.

Place the ingredient-filled measuring cup into the microwave and heat on high for one minute. Remove and stir. Repeat until everything is fully melted.

Once melted, add the essential oil and mica powder. Stir well.

Pour into mold, filling each cavity about ¾ of the way.

Allow body bars about 40 minutes to cool completely, before unmolding.
