DIY Easy & Simple $8 Planter

I was strolling through Meijer the other day when I came across these cute little plants. They were on sale for $1.99 so I grabbed four of them. I knew I had this galvanized metal trough at home that I hadn't found a use for yet and figured it would be super easy and budget friendly to turn it into a planter.
This is all the materials I needed. You can purchase some extra soil if you would like but I knew my trough wasn't deep enough to hold any extra soil than what came with the plants.
Remove your plants from the container by placing them upside down and sliding out. The plants should come out easily. Make sure to break the roots up since the plans are more than likely going to be root bound from being in such a small container.
Place each plant in a row in your container and fill with extra soil if needed. Give your plants a light watering and use as your favorite centerpiece!
Here is my super easy and cheap trough centerpiece on my kitchen table! This seriously cost me less than $8 and took me ONLY 5 minutes to throw together. For more easy, fast, and cheap ideas visit my blog here!

Cute idea. Love the trough! Where did you get it?

Cute idea, but what about drainage. Don't you need to put holes in the bottom or small stones,....something??

Also, could this also be done in an oversized wine glass? If so, how?

    Thanks

Did you drill a hold for drainage?
