Needed a Garden Bench

Out of necessity for deck furniture I made this garden bench. I started out with twelve cinder blocks.
Six cinder blocks to make up each side support for the bench. I then used five 4x4's outdoor treated wood that are six feet long in length and fed them through the holes on the cinder blocks.
Slide wood into cinder block
Three 4x4's for the seat, and two 4x4's for the back rest.
Once the bench was in place I added three chair outdoor fabric cushions tying them to the wood. I added a couple of fun throw pillows and it is set for company!

Am I wrong to assume the square in the 4x4 would feel through when sat on.?

I got cinder blocks but when I built the bench my feet don't touch. What are the measurements of the ones you used.

I've purchased my cushions and I'm going to try landscape timbers. I have a seating cushion just waiting for this project.

Thanks for for the idea. This is one I can do by myself. I'm new to the hometalk community.
