Stock Tank Pools, what's all the hype? Why are these pools so popular? I believe its because because they are EASY to install and maintain. Oh and of course because they are so fun!

This one was mine, two homes ago. I really want another one because I really enjoyed it. I'm searching for another used tank, which is what was used here.

We even had a waterfall on our pool and that made it extra fun!

Did you know that I wrote  a blog post on how we installed it? Did you also know that it is the most visited post on my entire blog? Also, it's my most pinned on Pinterest with over 1.5M views and the most viewed post on my Hometalk with 206K views, so far! *wink*

WOW!

Who knew that this little project would be such a hit? I did! I said at the time, "this is going to do so well"! You see, when I posted it on Instagram, everyone wanted to know all the details.

Step 1: Choose your tank size and location to set it. This spot was right off the patio and it used to be a fish pond waterfall feature, so it was a perfect spot.

Step 2: Using a shovel, level and contractor's sand, prepare the area on the ground where your stock tank will be located.

Step 3: Installing the Intex Filter Pump - Please visit my blog for a VERY helpful video that we used to install our pump.

Step 4: Add decorative stone around your pool area and decorate with plants.

Step 5: Add pool noodles around the edge of the tank for safety and comfort.

My original blog post was way too lengthy and full of step by step photos to list here. You can get all the step by step details and the purchase list by clicking right HERE.

I saw one that had a floating solar pump and a chlorine tab floater but don’t remember how they cleaned the bottom…love this ideal - found a tub at tractor supply at $399

Hi Donna, we always used our shop vac to clean the bottom if it was needed. The circulating pump filter did most of the work though.
