How to Make Your Own Sea Glass Beach/ Coastal Theme

After looking at the pottery barn website and falling in love with well.. just about everything I thought it’s time to try a little thing using some old bottles I had after seeing the sea glass balls

I gathered a PVA glue , some food colouring , a couple of old bottles that I love the shape of . although glass balls look great also in their website I wanted to use some nice bottles I already had . I needed a paint brush AND A HAIR DRYER HELPED. As I am impatient waiting for things to dry :) I also used some clear spray to seal it

I poured a small amount of glue into a small glass bowl , I had and added a few drops of the colour I wanted I choose blue to start with but this works well with any colour you like I will do a few different colours to give you a bit more of an idea on what looks great .

Mix really well and remember as the pva glue dries clear the colour will be a lot different it will turn out much lighter once it is dried

Now start painting and give a good cover all round as you can see it turns out a lot lighter and even lighter as it drys

Now as I had it stuck on my finger I thought well I need this to dry quick so I used the hair dryer and it was dry in a few minutes I then did a 2nd coat and again used the hair dryer

This is what it looked like after he 1st coat so it defiantly needed a 2nd coat

And this is the 2nd coat , and a quick spray of some clear sealer, and it is time to move on to another colour , I have another glass bottle the same this so so easy and so much fun even a child could do this as a school holiday activity :) enjoy this should take only about 15 min to make each bottle maybe not even that once you get the hang of it great for those who have and love the beach theme

here is a green one also after the 1st coat

:) blue and green should never been seen unless you want a beach theme :) 2 nd coat on and a clear coat spray on top to protect

NOw a $2 clear plain vase again apply 2 coats of the PVA and yellow food colouring this time , and dry with hair dryer and apply a 2nd coat and a clear spray coat to protect :)

Add a few battery operated twinkle lights and scatter few little white stones and your done :) you now have some really pretty seaglass ornaments I added some sticks to my bottle and will add some lemon grass oils and turn into defusers
