I found this cute little table at a yard sale. I think I paid $15 for it. I decided to make it one of my favorite colors: Colonial blue.
You can see it had good bones. I began by sanding it lightly all over. Then I painted a base coat primer and the first coat of chalk paint off blue.
I painted the blue first and then added a room if white just under the top. I have learned that it really is important to do a light sand between coats.
Finally I did a top coat of water soluble clear polyurethane.
After I was finished I didn't like the wooden knob so I purchased a new knob.
It was just right!
I think this will make a nice night stand or end table. This was an easy project. The wood was in great condition and required no repairs. I love the outcome.
