Revamping a Small Outdoor Table
If you have seen any of my recent posts you will know I find alot of stuff at my hometown dump. Upon my last visit I spotted a small side table. It was kind of in rough shape but I was drawn to the base. Much to my son's horror I got out and went to retrieve it all the while he is trying to hide so no one will see him and yelling to me to stop picking garbage. I told him " hey this is what you do at country dumps!' He can be quite the city boy every once in awhile. Lol... I did get my table though, then dropped him off and went back for more!!
So here is my table. As mentioned I love the base and it just needs some tlc.
I removed the top and washed the base to remove the dirt from it.
I went to my paint supply and found this gloss black spray paint and gave it one coat of paint.
Here is my base painted. Looks brand new!
Next I went rummaging through my shed and found this metal serving tray . I knew I saved it for a reason!
I had a scrap piece of wood that I decided to use to create a solid base to fit inside. I traced around my tray to determine size.
Here is my outline.
I used my jigsaw to cut out the circle.
Here it is cut out and inside the container.
I wanted to paint the wood and decided to use this outdoor paint in black. It is easier to paint before putting it in, but once I put it in I couldn't get it out!
Here it is freshly painted. I will clean the sides once paint is dry.
These are peel and stick backsplash tile I had left over and decided to use them to spruce up the outside of my tray.
I cut into narrow strips and applied around the top and bottom.
This is my tray with the tile applied. I love how this turned out. Next it was time to reattach the base. I turned the tray upside down and attached the base using a screwdriver.
Here is my table base attached and table complete. Love this transformation!
This was a super easy project and cost me nothing to make as I had all materials on hand. Gotta love when that happens! I love my new table and it's perfect for setting my drinks on when I sit on my front porch.

Did you do anything to the bottom of the inside where some of the paint got on the side?
