Painted Suitcases Un, Deux, Trois

Painted Suitcases??? You Bet!!
I scooped this 3 piece set of suitcases off of my local swap and buy site. They were perfectly plain, and NO smell!! Double Yahoo!
If you know me at all then you know that I'm in LOVE with fonts, and the vintage French fonts are a heart breaker for me!

I knew exactly what I was going to do with these suitcases!
I chalk painted them in varying shades of Blue....GASP...Did I mention that I'm also a sucker for the color Blue?

This one is painted in Patina Blue. I hand painted a Paris France Address to the top of the suitcase.
The second one I painted in Confidence Blue, again hand painting a different Paris France Address on top.
The third and final one I painted in Bliss Blue and again added a different Paris France Address to the top.
ALL of these wonderful Paris addresses are courtesy of The Graphics Fairy. I love that they are similar yet all the same!

Love the suitcases! Actually makes me want to go travelling!

Another idea I found quite interesting was making a chest of drawers by sealing off the opening of each suitcase, then cutting handle and clasps front of suitcases off about 2" in. These become the drawer fronts. Attach drawer insides to fronts like a regular drawer and slide into back of suitcase. The backs are stacked at slightly different angles for interest sake and screwed together with spacers between them to allow easy movement of drawers. Saw this on Netflix - Find it, Fix it, Flog it.
